About MedEd
Helping Rochester, MN families, caregivers, businesses, and professionals feel confident when it matters most.
Through compassionate, hands-on CPR and first aid training, I help individuals, families, caregivers, and professionals build confidence in emergency situations.
Hi, I’m Katherine — owner of Med Ed CPR Training.
I am passionate about helping people feel prepared to save lives.
Hello and welcome to my page! I am so excited you are here and I can’t wait to get to know you. I am a wife to my amazing husband Matt as well as a mother to 5 teenagers. We have two 18-year-old boys and three 16-year-old girls. I am also a fur momma to 7 fur babies and hopefully one day to many more! I have done in home daycare for 10 ½ years and will be ending that chapter of my career to pursue CPR training full time.
Many of you know Michelle Gillard who started Med Ed in 1992 all on her own and by word of mouth. She was an EMT prior to this for years and was very passionate about teaching people this life saving skill that is good for anyone or any age, job, or chapter of life to know how to do.
I purchased Med Ed from Michelle in January of 2025 and while we were supposed to work together for a few months before she sailed off into retirement, life had a plan of its own. Michelle got sick January 23rd and was hospitalized for about 40 days with some rehab after that. With all of that, things moved a little faster than planned and I took over full time in February of 2025. I have since then been doing full time Daycare and CPR.
Michelle is a fighter and is doing great today enjoying retirement, her husband Doug, her wonderful kids and her sweet Grandbabies. She is by far one of the best and most amazing people I know, and I am honored I get to continue teaching people from all over this lifesaving skill that everyone should know.
I have big shoes to fill but with my amazing clients already I have no doubt Med Ed will continue to grow and we will continue to educate people on the importance of CPR & first aid to be able to help when it matters most!
As an instructor for CPR and First aid, I value hands-on learning, real life preparedness and creating a comfortable experience for every student. Whether it is your first time, renewing certification, or training for your career, I love having people leave class feeling more confident, capable and ready to respond when it matters most.
At Med Ed CPR training, I offer CPR, BLS, First aid, AED and babysitting certification courses tailored to meet the needs of healthcare professionals, parents, childcare providers, schools, businesses, and community members throughout the area.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, animals, friends and supporting my community while continuing to grow a business centered around education, confidence and care!
Take a look around and I can’t wait to meet you!
At Med Ed CPR Training, I understand that learning emergency response skills can feel intimidating at first. That’s why I focus on creating a calm encouraging environment where questions are welcomed and students feel supported every step of the way!
